I have this friend named Kandice. She is kind, talented, fun, loyal and an all around awesome person.
Wanna know how awesome she is? 2 years ago she trained (and when I say "trained" I mean she ran daily, changed her diet, set her mind to it and made it her main focus and raised over $2,000. A LOT goes into this training) to participate in the Breast Cancer 3-Day. On day 2 she was red flagged because she hurt her foot. You can just imagine her disappointment. But her disappointment didn't take away her determination. Kandi is now training to participate in the 2009 Breast Cancer 3-Day! She did 10 miles yesterday! She is eating a healthy diet, setting her mind to it and she will do it this year!
But...she needs our help! She needs to raise just under $2,000 more to be able to participate. Please, please, if you have anything you can donate to this wonderful cause, do it! Every little bit helps. How awesome would it be if your daughters, granddaughters, friends, etc never had to worry about awful breast cancer? If you aren't able to donate, please pass this info on to anyone who may be able to help.
is how long it has been since I last posted here! I'm guessing no one checks in anymore.
So how about an update? I can't guarantee that I will get back to keeping up with it.
I thought life was busy before...I just didn't know what I had coming! lol
Let's see, the last thing I posted about was Peanut. We have now had her for 7 months. She is Chloe's very best friend. Chloe, who wouldn't go in the same house as a dog, is now a total dog lover. She is an awesome pet owner and takes care of Peanut. And Peanut is a great little dog. She lets Chloe and her friends dress her up and push her around in baby doll strollers and she loves to snuggle. I am so happy we found her because she fits in with our family just perfectly.
Fast forward a few months to the beginning of June and we wrap up the end of Chloe's 1st grade year! We had a 1st grade performance
She had an awesome year and won several great awards, including the Principal's Award!! YAY! Koby won the same award. Only 1 boy and 1 girl from each class is selected for this award.
I started working part time in June at a church close to home in their Mom's Day Out program. I LOVE it there.
June also brought us a trip to Austin with these nuts.
but unfortunately, Kaleb was sick the whole trip. :(
We took a trip to the zoo...
Spent time with friends...
And on August 12th, Chloe turned EIGHT!!!!
We celebrated with friends and family at Pump It Up.
And then just the 2 of us at The American Girl Store and Bistro.
We started slowing down and preparing to go back to school. Chloe AND Me!!
We had our annual "night before school" family dinner at The Purple Cow. (Have you ever seen weirder kids??)
August 24th was the first day of school! Kaleb is at a different school this year but here are a few pics of Chloe and Koby on their first day.
And I (finally) went back to school too! For my first semester back I am only taking 6 hours but I am really enjoying being back in and headed toward my goal! So now I am working M/F school Tu/Th and Wed is my "day off". My "day off" will consist of running errands, doing homework, having lunch with the kids, working with the pre-k class at church and volunteering at the school.
This past weekend marked the beginning of football season! Chloe is cheering again this year and seems to love it even more than in years past! Yay! And I am coaching again this year. You know, because I don't have enough obligations already. haha.
Okay, I think that pretty much brings us up to date. Maybe, just maybe it won't be 7 months before I post again!
