T.G.I.F!

Yay! It's the weekend!
We had a busy week so I am ready for a relaxing weekend!

Today I got to go have lunch with Koby and Chloe. It was so fun. They were so excited to see me and even more excited to see that I had Wendy's Kid Meals in my hands. ;)

Here is Kaleb being his cute self when we got home from shopping.

Today afterschool the PTA was supposed to be selling snow cones. Chloe and Koby have been excited since Wed when we saw the huge sign posted. "$1 Snow Cones After School on Friday".
Oh. Mah. Gah! It was CRAZZZZZY! Kids freakin everywhere and adults who had no idea how to organize a line. Aye Aye Aye! I told the kids that we would be better off heading over to TC's (one of our favorite shaved ice places) where they would have more flavors anyway. It took a minute but they finally agreed and we left the madness.

Koby wanted a "blue" one so he got bubble gum flavor: (Notice Kaleb crashed on the way)

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

And Chloe always gets Ice Cream flavor. (She wasn't thrilled about the sun in her eyes)

Then Rena came by and we met Cyndie at Hobby Lobby. Don't the kiddos look cute in their sunglasses? I think the people in Hobby Lobby were reallllly happy when we finally left the store. lol

Then we headed out to cheer practice. Afterward, Chloe wanted to climb the pole: (She looks so tiny!)

We came home and did some of the Halloween crafts that mom and I had picked up at Michaels earlier in the day:

Chloe seems to be finally feeling better. I am getting better too. Our game isn't until late tomorrow so keep your fingers crossed for me that Chloe sleeps in!! :)

Have a great weekend!

A Better Day Today!

So today has been better than yesterday! YAY!

I am feeling a little better.
I decided Chloe will not take her medicine in the morning anymore. It is toooo dramatic. So we had a better morning.

Tomorrow is Teddy Bear day at school. They have been reading Goldilocks and the Three Bears so they will take bears to school tomorrow and they (bears) will get to spend the night at school. Chloe is so excited so she went ahead and picked out her bear this morning. She chose from her Build-A-Bear collection:

And the winner is...

Last Year's Candy Corn bear

All ready for school. I think she looks beautiful in this pic so I left it bigger than the others. ;)

And walking in with Kaleb this morning:

Poor Kaleb ended up having to come home early because he had a sick tummy. :( So we went to Target! :D

A Blah Day

Today has just been a BLAH day!

My pink eye has now spread to both eyes.

Chloe gagged on her medicine this morning and cried going into school because she was tired and not feeling well.

While I was napping Hector came by and woke me up...twice. Just to tell me some useless crap.

When I picked Chloe up from school she was frowning. I asked what was wrong and she said she got in trouble today and had to move her card. Her folder said she "answered a question without raising her hand after the teacher told the class to raise their hand first." Apparently 6 kids moved their card for that. Chloe said she cried when the teacher told her to move it.

Then we had to do letter "Dd" homework. Holy crap it was dramatic. Chloe got so irritated and had a freak out. She would NOT listen to me!! Grrrr! We were realllllly butting heads.

Hector called to say he traded his Vette and truck in for a new truck so he came by and that seemed to cheer Chloe up. Now she and Koby are torturing a poor lady bug.

AND I didn't win Chera's photo shoot! GAH! :D

*Sigh* I hope tomorrow is better!

Now wasn't that a happy, uplifting post? Sorry to be a Debbie Downer.

Pink Eye

UGHHHH!!! I have f'in pink eye! Gross.

I have been sick since about mid-June. I have been to the gym ONCE since then! I just don't feel 100% so I don't make myself go to the gym. I wanna feel well!! :(
I hope Chloe doesn't get it!!!!

Wah. Okay, that's my pity party for the day. Carry on.

Aren't Weekends Supposed to Be Relaxing?

Whew! Weekends are always so crazy around here!

Chloe and I spent Friday night running errands. First to SuperTarget (of course) and then to CVS. CVS had a Halloween aisle and Chloe wanted to try on all the spooky masks. Yall know me...I take my camera with me everywhere I go. So I whipped it out and she had so much fun trying them on and having me take pics!
The first 2 are just random that I took. I thought she looked so cute in her dress and Kaleb's shoes. hehe And look at those gorgeous brown eyes!

Lately Kaleb has been smiling for pics. He will even say, "CHEESE, Chelsea!"
The pic is all blury because Kaleb played with it with messy fingers. And I look scarier than the pics above lol...But with that gorgeous smile on my little nephew, I couldn't resist sharing this pic!

Saturday we ran more errands and Chloe had a game. No pics from that. The Owlets lost but Chloe and her friends did a great job cheering them on. Chloe still insists she will play football next year. It was also Justin's (my BIL) Birthday. Which leads to Sunday...

My family is great for a gazillion reasons. One of them being that no matter how old you are, you get a Birthday party complete with cake, ice cream and presents. Today we celebrated Justin turning 27. Here are some pics from the day...

First, I can't believe how much Koby and Kaleb are looking alike! Maybe it's the hair?

Koby:

And just in case you didn't think we were random enough...Chloe and Koby decided they would sing us some Christmas Carols...

I love how Koby's "song book" (The Complete Works of William Shakespere) is upside down. Teehee.

We had a fun day. I didn't get pics of everyone but Mom and Dad, Stef and Grandma and Hector were all here too!

Have a GREAT week!

Edited because I said Justin was turning 28...but he actually turned 27 and I forgot to add that Hector was here too. Sorry...I was tired! lol

Home Sick

Well, Chloe stayed home sick today.
Poor thing. After her determination on Wed I knew she was miserable when she told me this morning that she didn't think she could make it to school.
We went to the Dr. and they gave us some nasal spray for her allergies and an antibiotic to help clear up the icky mucous so she doesn't get a sinus infection. We saw the PA today and she was great!

So we went to Target and got her a new Junie B Jones book and now we are just relaxing on the couch. We are bummed that she won't get the "Perfect Attendance" but she was just miserable today. Hopefully resting today will have her feeling better before the start of next week.

We are supposed to have a game tomorrow but I think we will wait and see how she is feeling.

If you have a fe minutes, check out this video. It is so sweet. If you are a parent you will love it. If you aren't...it might bore you. lol

I hope all of you have a fabulous weekend!!!

La La La

I am soo bored today!
I was supposed to go shopping with some friends this morning but we ended up canceling so I am just being lazy.

Poor Chloe STILL isn't feeling well and she doesn't seem to be getting better very fast! :(
She is still so stuffy in the mornings. This morning she told me she has strep throat. She is such a hypochondriac! lol

She is excited to go to the bookstore afterschool for some new books so she can start on a new program that someone on my mom's board posted about. (http://www.bookadventure.com/)

She is still loving school and is making so many friends. It is so cute when I go to pick her up and all of the little girls in her class want to hug her. She has always been such an open, friendly child so I knew she would make friends quickly.
She says that P.E. class is getting more fun because they have started playing games. She said her P.E. teacher always tells her what a great student she is and that she always gets "Star Student" (I think that is what she called it) tickets. Apparently the teacher will draw a name from them at the end of the six weeks for a prize. She is realllly hoping to get it! :)

Here is a convo from yesterday...she cracks me up
Chloe: "Mom, my teacher shops at NY&Co."
Me: "Really? How do you know?"
Chloe: "She had on some really cute shoes so I asked her where she bought them and she said NY&Co."

She is so silly. She has always been a fashion lover. The funny thing is that she knew what NY&Co was when the teacher told her that was where she bought the shoes.

Tomorrow is Friday! YAY! I get to go have lunch with Chloe and Koby! But that also means cheer practice...outside. And that means more allery problems! Argh!!

My Little Reader

I forgot to post the other night after Meet the Teacher that Chloe's teacher told me that she (Chloe) will likely be the first to start in the Accelerated Reading Program this year. She said that she is reading so well and a great student! Way to go Chloe!

She is still stuffy and had a hard time getting up this morning but she was excited to go to school so I sent her on. I hope all of these stuffies clear up soon!

My Determined Girl

Poor Chloe. She is suffering big time with her allergies. When we take advantage of the beautiful weather, we always pay for it later with stuffy noses and coughs. This morning she woke up feeling awful. She took forever to wake all the way up and she was constantly blowing her nose and coughing.
Stef called and said the boys had coughs and would be staying home (at our house) and I told Chloe that she could stay home today if she needed too. She didn't have fever but I know how crummy she is feeling since I am dealing with it too. Just as I started taking her shoes off and getting her pajamas out for her to put on, she said, "I think I can go after all." My little trooper. She is so determined to get Perfect Attendance that she went even though she didn't feel up to it.
I sent a note in her folder asking her teacher to call if she had a hard time. She called during her conference time to tell me that Chloe came in crying this morning but that she was in music class now and doing okay. She told me she would keep an eye on her for the rest of the day.
I was so proud of her. As a kid I didn't give a flip about perfect attendance and if there was any chance to stay home, I jumped all over it. I love how determined she is when she knows she can do something!

The new Barbie movie came out today. (Island Princess) So I told her I would pick it up while she is at school so we can watch it together tonight. I can't wait! :D I am thinking we will skip dance again tonight.

Oh, and tonight is the finale of Big Brother 8. I am so glad. I am ready to stop watching but I have to see if it will be Dick or Daniele to win. I am putting my money on Daniele. I wonder what her relationship with her dad will be like after this. And with her boyfriend. And Nick. :)

The End to a Busy Weekend!

McKinlee stayed with us on Saturday night. Chloe was so excited to have her over but in an ugly mood so I spent most of the time telling her to be nice. Ugh!
So Sunday we got up and met Rena and a few other friends at a little kids fest type thing in Rockwall. Here are the kids on the Fire Truck.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I didn't take many other pics but the kids got face paint, an art project, prizes for games, cotton candy, popcorn and bounce houses! It was fun. And hot! Where did that Fall weather go??

Then we went to Rena's to hang out for a bit and the kids played slip and slide and had a great time!

Dad and Hector fixed the Suburban. It wasn't the radiator but the water pump. I am so glad it is fixed! :)

Chloe and I are not feeling well. Our allergies are realllllly aggitated. But Chloe didn't even try to get out of going to school. She is determined to get perfect attendance. And she was hoping to get to be a "helper" today. They change helpers each week. (Line Leader/Caboose, Office Helper, Trash Helper, etc.)

I came home and fell back asleep for 2 hrs! It was nice! :)
This afternoon is Tumbling and then tonight is Meet the Teacher!

Oh, and Chloe told me yesterday that she isn't going to be a cheerleader next year. She wants to play football instead.

Baby It's Hot Outside & A Surprise Party for Jackie!

Well, it's Saturday so that means FOOTBALL!! Yay! :)
The league changed the schedule (again ;) ) so now we have late afternoon games. WOW...it was HOT today! The girls still did a great job, though! Chloe absolutely loves cheering. I will have to see if Hec took any video so you can see just how great she is :D Here are a few pics...

This pic shows just how hot they were:

McKinlee, Tanner and Rena came to watch! Afterward McKinlee came home with us. Here the girls are waiting for Rena to come get us for dinner. We went out to The Olive Garden in Lewisville to celebrate Jackie's Bday! :)

Grandparent's Day

This week was Grandparent's Week at Chloe and Koby's school. Remember those as a kid? I looooved when my grandparents could come to lunch at school. (BTW, I have the coolest Grandparents ever but Chloe and Koby's run a close 2nd.) Today they got to have their grandparents come to lunch. Here are some pics:

Tonight is cheer practice and tomorrow we have a game. Hopefully the heat won't hit until after the game! :) So look for lots of pics tomorrow too! :)

Car Trouble & Ginger Bread Men

Ugh! So the Suburban has been acting funny the past few days. Well, after picking Kaleb up from school mom and I decided we needed to make a Target run for some groceries. (For those of you who don't know...Target is my addiction. Seriously...it's insane how much I go there.) Anyway, we get tons of groceries and load up to go home. About half way home (Target is only 5 or so min away) one of the lights comes on. Check gauges or something like that. So mom looks down and sees that the temp gauge is in the red zone!!!!! Ugh! We get home (thank God...since we had Kaleb and a back fulllll of groceries.) and there is an awful smell and smoke pouring out of the grill. And I needed to leave to get the kids from school in 2 hours.

Since the school is within walking distance I just decided to walk to pick Chloe and Koby up. Luckily on the way one of our neighbors (his daughter is a friend of Chloe's) offers me a ride. I was so glad because it was so humid! Yuck!

Anyway, his daughter came over to play afterschool so Chloe was thrilled.

Chloe said that they ate gingerbread men cookies at school yesterday and she loved it. Which is weird because she is the pickiest eater on the planet so I never would have expected she would like the taste of gingerbread cookies. She told me we need to buy some but that "since it isn't Christmas time we probably couldn't find any."

Today she said they baked gingerbread men and read a book about them. Here was her cute craft:

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Okay, so tomorrow is Friday and there are a few fun things going on so watch for cute pictures tomorrow!

Luckily Hector is coming by tonight to look at the Suburban. My dad told me to "twist off the radiator cap and pull the hose around and add water to it." LOL! If you know me, you are probably laughing at the thought of me trying to figure out WTH a radiator even looks like. (I know, that's pathetic...but true.)

And...I think this might be my new favorite song.

G'night!

Limited Edition

It takes a special breed of "jerk" to make Limited Edition junk food. Because seriously, name one premenstrual woman who would pass these babies up.

Guess what I had for breakfast. ;)

The cookies weren't great. So I stopped myself at 3.
But the reeses peanut butter cups (with chopped nuts) were almost orgasmic. I ate lots of those.

A Busy Tuesday!

It's mid-September and it is 76* in TEXAS! That is unheard of! I am LOVING it! Too bad my allergies are all wonky! :(

I had an interview this morning with a local Mom's Day Out/Preschool Program. It went well. After they run my background check they will add me to the sub list. I am really hoping that I can eventually be added on as an actual aide but we'll see. :) If not, then I am off to find something else. It is so hard to find something that would allow me the same schedule as Chloe's school but that is what I am really hoping for so keep your fingers crossed for me.

Before I had my interview, Stef called and said Kaleb was in the clinic at school and needed to be picked up. So I rushed over there to get him. He is so sweet. I love when he says, "Oh, hi Aunt Chelsea." He isn't feeling well today...poor little guy!

Today is college t-shirt day at school in support of College Night so Chloe wore her pink UT jersey. She looked adorable!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Tuesday's are my favorite school day because they bring home their Tuesday folder with all kinds of stuff for me to read through. I am such a nerd. And I get to sign up for the PTA today! Woo Hoo!! :D 10 years ago I never imagined I would be so excited about joining the PTA and having a Kindergartner. It's crazy how much things change! I can't wait to get invloved in her school!

Today is September 11th. I can't believe it has been SIX years since the attacks on the World Trade Center. I remember it so cleary...just like it was yesterday. I was 19 years old. A new mom to a precious baby who was only 1 day shy of 1 month old. I was getting ready for morning classes when I heard the news on tv. I remember calling Kaci and we decided not to go to class. We wanted to be home and around our families. There was such an empty, scared, numb, sad feeling. I sat and held my baby all day watching the news. I wondered what the future of this country held for my tiny, innocent daughter. It was such a tragic day. I will never forget it or all of the emotions I felt that day. God Bless the heroes of 9/11, and the families of those who lost loved ones in such a horrible attack. God Bless the brave, selfless men and women who protect our country and fight for our freedom everyday. God Bless America.

Chloe came home with her first Kindergarten homework. :) It isn't due until Friday but she wanted to finish it right away! (That's my girl! ;) )

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I love how she sticks her tongue out when she concentrates!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

We skipped tap class because she was tired and didn't feel like going. And we went to our first PTA meeting! It was beyond boring. lol
