I can't believe we are already starting the 4th six weeks! This year is flyin!
Chloe brought her report card home yesterday.
She got all checks. Yay!
AND she had perfect attendance. WOO HOO!!!
One of the little girls in her class asked me yesterday, "HOW does Chloe color so fast!?!?" hehe. Chloe said that the teacher told her to slow down the other day because she was running out of work to give her. I am so happy that she loves school so much! :)

Chloe and I Are Movie Goin' Fools
On saturday we wanted to go see something but had already seen all of the G & PG movies that are showing. Except for one.
Veggie Tales: The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything.
I don't think either of us really wanted to see it but since there was nothing else, we settled. We don't usually do cartoons/animation much. Chloe prefers "real people" over animation. Which is fabulous for me.
I was bored beyond belief. It was only an 85 minute movie and about half way through Chloe asked "How much longer until this show is over?" Which she never does. In the end, she said she liked it. But I think that's just because she was glad it was over.
So my advice for anyone whose kids wanna see it? Wait for it to go to the $1 theater...or DVD. :)

Pink 4-Wheelers & "Get Low"
Saturday morning Chloe and I went to have breakfast with her dad at IHOP, Chloe's favorite breakfast restaurant. Afterward we went out to Family Power Sports to pick something up.
Chloe loooooved this Pink 4-Wheeler. She sat on it forever and was mad when we had to leave. Hehe. It's a 200 and she is just big enough for her 50.

On the way home she sang at the top of her lungs to "Get Low". Goofy girl.

Frozen Yogurt Pops
For Christmas I got the Jessica Seinfeld Deceptively Delicious cookbook.
http://www.deceptivelydelicious.com/site/
So last week Chloe and I made these Frozen Yogurt Pops with berries.
We loooooove them!
Here's the recipe if you wanna give them a try. They are super easy to make (and pretty healthy too!)!
Also, thanks to Christine for constantly stalking me at Target. Haha. If I hadn't run into you I may have been standing there for a long time trying to figure out which was the Confectioners' Sugar. LOL!
2 cups plain lowfat yogurt
2 cups frozen berries (I buy the "mixed berries" bag)
-thawed in the microwave for 1 minute (but I didn't thaw ours)
1/2 to 3/4 cup confectioners' sugar (and if you are like me and didn't know this, it's the same thing as powdered sugar)
Combine the yogurt, fruit, and sugar in a blender or food processor and process until smooth. Pour into popsicle molds and freeze.
(I used mini plastic solo cups instead...I thought it looked cuter :) )

Random Cuteness
"MOM! I did NOT want you to do that!!!!"
Gah.
So pretty much everyone in the family has been sick.
Chloe and I have been lucky and not caught any of the sickies.
But yesterday I watched Kaleb while Stef was at work and he started running a fever and ended up with Strep. So I was exhausted by the end of the day.
This morning when the alarm went off to get Chloe ready for school I shut it off and decided to let her sleep in and just take a day off from school. I was tired and I figured we could both use the rest anyway.
I was all excited for her to wake up so that I could tell her she didn't have to go to school today.
8:30. Chloe woke up and said, "Mom?? When do we need to get up for school?"
I said, "Oh, baby...you don't have to go today! I just let you sleep in and we can hang out together all day." (Imagine me with an excited smile on my face)
Chloe looked at me for a minute and started crying. She said, "But MOM!!! I did NOT want you to DO that!!"
Um, okay.
I apologized and told her we would have a fun day. But she insisted that she would be "bored all day" (haha) and that she "loves school so much. Now I won't have perfect addendance for this 6 weeks."
So she got dressed and I took her in late.
Weird kid.

So, I'm no Paula Deen...
Let me start by saying I never cook.
Never.
Ever.
It's not that I don't like to cook. I'm just not good at it. And every time I make an attempt, not only does it not taste good, I make a HUGE mess. So usually one of the other 5,093,785 people who lives here will cook. Or we eat out.
So this morning Hector called to see if Chloe and I wanted to go have IHOP. We agreed. And guess what...as we were walking in, Kaci and Stephen pulled up so we got to have breakfast with them. Such a nice surprise.
But anyway, Chloe had a few bites of pancakes with her many strips of bacon.
So tonight for dinner she was craving more pancakes.
We got out the Shake and Bake...
We threw away 2 burnt pancakes.
We used 2 skillets before finding one that didn't burn the pancakes. (Okay, so it had nothing to do with the pan we were using. But it makes me feel better to blame the pan)
Finally we had a plate of pancakes.
Chloe looked at me with a huge, proud smile on her face and said,
"MOMMY! You actually cooked a food! I am so proud of you!"
Poor kid.
Never.
Ever.

Some stuff
I don't think I told about this yet. Chloe learned to tie her shoes last week! She is so proud of herself. And I am happy too...it makes getting ready in the morning just that much easier. Now if we could just find that darn lunchbox we lost last week...
Also, last week at school Chloe got to read a Clifford book to the class. I asked her why *she* got to and she said it was because the teacher said she "is a great reader". Woo Hoo! Today she sat on the couch and read the entire "Dora's Halloween Party" book to Kaleb. I can't believe what a great reader she is. I am so proud!
School is out Monday and Tuesday so we have a few fun things planned to do. Poor Koby and Kaleb. They have been sick (Koby has strep throat :( ) so they are spending their days off from school sick. :(
Ugh. I'm not even going to watch the stinkin Super Bowl. I was pissed when Dallas lost to the Giants las week. And now I am pissed that Green Bay lost to them. I don't wanna see the Patriots go 19-0. So I guess I am done with football until the 2008 season. Boooooo.
And, I am blonde again. Didn't I tell you I would do that? I am lucky I have any hair left after how much I dye it. I think I'll stick with blonde for a while again. Maybe.

Soccer!!
So, Chloe recently decided that, after 3 years, she was done with dance. She had tried ballet, tap and hip hop. She was good at it and she liked it. But a few months ago she decided that it wasn't something she wanted to do anymore.
So we enrolled her in private lessons for tumbling. She loves tumbling and really, she has natural talent for it. She has progressed so much in the last few months.
But, unfortunately, we have had some issues with the dance studio. We have been there for just over 3 years and we have really loved it. I have recommended the studio to so many people and the teacher/coach is a perfect fit for Chloe. I am sad to be done there....but there have been conflicts on the "business" end of things and we had to end our relationship with the coach/studio. I am really bummed about it but we will search for another place and hopefully get her back into tumbling soon.
Anyway, last year (or was it the year before?) Chloe played a few seasons of soccer. She was good. Really good. Which surprised me since she is a pretty shy kid. I didn't expect her to get out there and play as hard as she did. But she did! :) I think it helped that her dad was coaching. But eventually Hector decided that he couldn't do it anymore. So we didn't sign up again.
But...now, she is saying she misses playing soccer and wants to play again! YAY!!! I am sooooo excited. I hope she goes into this season (with a new league, new coaches, new friends) with as much confidence as she had before. She's good. And I can't wait to watch her get better and better! So our Spring soccer season will start at the end of Feb. WOO HOO!!!!!!

My Best Friend
Not everyone finds a true "Best Friend" in their lifetime.
I have lots of friends who I love and adore and I am blessed to be surrounded by amazing people. I love all of my friends.
But I just wanted to take a minute to say that I am so blessed to have a true "Best Friend" in my life.
She "gets" me; she lifts my spirits; she knows me--the real, true me, nothing held back. We can go a week or so without talking, we can go even longer without hanging out. But she is always there for me and we can always pick up right where we lfet off. I can tell her *anything* and she never judges me. I don't know what I would do without her!
Thanks for being the most fabulous friend ever, Kaci. I love you!

Well, that sucked...
I am so bummed that Dallas lost yesterday! I was sooooo excited at the idea of the Cowboys in the Super Bowl. Really, though, it was an awesome season. I am just bummed that we aren't goin all the way.
So now I'm rooting for the Packers. Any team but New England really. lol

We've been pretty boring lately. I had my 2nd Boudoir session with the amazing Kandi (www.krayphotography.com) this past weekend. It was so much fun letting loose and hanging out with some of my favorite girls!
And we went to see Grandma and Bop Bop yesterday. Bop Bop isn't feeling well, so keep him in your prayers.
Have a fabulous week!

Happy New Year!
I can't believe it is a new year already!
2007 reeally flew by and it was a great year.
Chloe went back to school today after a 2 week Christmas break. A few days ago I was saying that I was ready for her to go back. She and Koby have been constantly arguing. But yesterday/last night I cahnged my mind. I didn't want to give that free time up again. We had so much fun while she was on break. It was like having a preschooler again, when we had all the time we wanted to just do whatever.
So last night I let her stay up a little late (okay, an hour later than I had planned) so that we could finish watching Ice Princess together. We have watched it together twice before but this time it made me cry again. It's such a sweet story about a mom and daughter and I wasn't ready to send my baby back to school. So we cuddled and watched it together.
She was ready to go back. She wants to see her friends again and she is hoping to be the "office helper" this week. This time last year I would get knots in my stomach just thinking about her starting school the coming Fall. And here we are, a year later and she is loving it. I am so happy.
So anyway, no resolutions for me this year. I never follow through with all of them so I'm just gonna enjoy this year and let life happen. :)
Here are some more pics of what we've been doing.
So my fabulous best friend, Kaci, is buying a house with her fabulous husband Stephen! We met them for lunch a couple of weekends ago and went to see their beautiful new house! Here is Chloe being silly at lunch...

And I meant to get a pic of Chloe with Kaci to compare to one of my favorite pics ever (Kaci holding Chloe the day she was born)...

Chloe has been spending some time learning how to skate on her new roller skates. She's really nervous on them but she's getting better. :)

Looking cute in her new sunglasses...

On New Year's Day Grandma and "Bop Bop" came over for lunch. The traditional black eyed peas, greens, ham and corn bread. Grandma made her banana split pie that we all love. Chloe had some for the first time...

Chloe's new favorite thing is playing Fairies. She loves the Disney Fairies. We bought Peter Pan and Return to Neverland...she had never seen either one. And lately we have been playing like we are fairies a lot. It's fun! :)
So one night, after dark, she put on fairy wings and we got the flashlight and headed out to the trampoline. She wanted to come in pretty quickly because the sound of the rustling leaves creeped her out. lol Here are a few pics...

My cute little crooked wing fairy.

Fast forward a couple of days. Chloe and I went to see Enchanted when it came out. We both LOVED it. It's an adorable movie. Well, she wanted Koby to see it too so we took a second trip to see it. And it was great the 2nd time around too. Koby thought it was funny but he wasn't quite as impressed as Chloe and I are.
Chloe wore her Giselle crown and jewelry she got for Christmas to go see it this time.

And fast forward another 2 days. We went to see The Water Horse. It was a really good movie. But it was a little intense for the kids on a few parts. In the end they said they liked it and want to see it again when it comes to DVD.

Today my awesome friend Marylou turns another year older. To celebrate, several of our friends went to dinner Saturday night.

Happy Birthday Mare!!! I love her even though she's a Bills fan. Haha.
Yesterday the weather was great. Like a Spring day would be in a part of the country that has normal weather. But in Texas, in December, you can put on a short sleeve shirt and go ride bikes and actually get hot. So Justin (bil) and I took Chloe and Koby out to White Rock to ride their bikes out by the lake. The wind was nuts but we had fun.

And the park had old fashioned teeter totters. Chloe and Koby had fun on it.

Also, this past weekend Chloe had her first ice skating experience. I have never taken her...I don't have the best balance. lol Hector took her and she said that it was fun but hard.
Being cute...

Using the wall to hold herself up.

And just being cute again. I guess the mall still hasn't taken their Christmas tree down. hehe

So now we are back into the swing of things and back on schedule. Things are returning to normal after the holidays.
I hope everyone has a fabulous 2008!
