The Magic Time Machine

I used to love going to The Magic Time Machine as a kid.
I have always thought about taking Chloe but never really followed through with it.
Well, Friday night we met up with some friends and had dinner there.
It was so much fun!

There was a face painter and she did an AWESOME job painting this sea turtle on Chloe's face.

My Chloe and me!

Chloe was so happy to see some of her friends that she hasn't seen much since starting the busy life of a Kindergartener! ;)

I got to cuddle with sweet Mabel! Aww!

They spent lots of time walking around, getting "autographs" and Hannah Montana was their favorite!

Leave it to Chloe to try to find a creative way to get out of finishing her dinner.
I was cracking UP when she told me
"Mom, I can't eat anymore of my chicken. There is moisture in it that is making it dry and I think it is giving me laryngitis."

No More Ponytails!

Chloe has been needing a haircut for a while now.

I LOVE when she agrees to cut it short because it is so easy to do but she had decided she was ready to grow it out.
She told me she just wanted a trim.

Well, on the way to the haircut shop yesterday I asked her again if she was sure she was ready to grow it out.
She said, "I guess we can go ahead and cut it short again." YAY!! It is SOOO cute and summer-y!

Before (it had been in a soccer ponytail)

Ice Cream!

This past week, "Nana and Pawpaw" went to Orlando for a few days.
Congrats to dad for winning this trip. He works so hard and totally deserved it!

I had the boys while Stef worked which means Kaleb went with me to pick Koby and Chloe up each day.

The first day I decided to take them for ice cream after school.
Kaleb thought that meant that we should get ice cream every day afterschool. Hehe.
I just can't tell him no, so we did.

Here they are having ice cream together. The weather here is looking fabulous lately!

My awesome nephews.

Chloe and Kaleb. As Stef pointed out, there is noone else in this world that Chloe would allow to kiss her with such a messy face! Awww!

And Koby being super silly!

Easter

I've been busy and haven't had a chance to update so I'm trying to play catch up.

Easter was great.

Saturday we went to an egg hunt with my friend Donna and her boys at their church and had lunch at IHOP. It was tons of fun and Chloe later told me, "Mom, we should visit that church soon." And we will. :)

The bunny brought Chloe a beach towel, 2 pairs of fairy flip flops, sunglasses, a few pieces of candy and some money. :)
She got some other cool stuff too, like a bathing suit, blow pens and a stuffed dog to snuggle.

She and I dyed our eggs on Saturday and the bunny hid them in the backyard.

Then we headed over to Grandma and Bop Bop's for Easter treats.
Grandpa was able to sit up ad visit for a while and the kids played out back with Kunk a lot. We had a really great time!

I asked Chloe if she knew why we celebrate Easter.
She said, "Jesus died on the cross and after 3 days he rolled the stone away and came back. He died to save us from our sins and he ascended into Heaven."
It made me feel so good to hear her say that.

Zoo Day!

Today is the last day of Spring Break so we met some friends for a day at the zoo.

It was super crowded and we didn't actually make it through the whole zoo. Chloe was cool with that since she is going on a zoo field trip soon and after 4 hours I was ready to go!

We rode the train since I am a wuss about driving out that way and we knew parking would be insane. Chloe loves riding the train. I don't love it but it was fun.

Making silly faces with her friends.

These turtle were huge. Chloe said, "I think these are lagerheads." Then she went and read the sign and said, "Oh, no, they're just tortoises."

Photobucket

I always love the elephants.

Photobucket

Chloe doesn't love the way they smell.

Photobucket

This was so sweet. This horribly ugly anteater had a baby on her back.

It's Spring Break!

Woo Hoo!

Chloe's school is on Spring Break this week.

She wasn't too thrilled about the whole idea and told me on Sunday (the day before SB started) that she was "ready for Spring Break to be over."

But we're having fun anyway.

On Friday we went over to Grandma and Bop Bop's house to visit.
Grandpa (Bop Bop) slept most of the time so Chloe and I played out back and ate popsicles.

Photobucket

The weather was gorgeous! We also ran a few errands for Gma and Gpa.

Saturday Chloe had a soccer game. Her team lost. :( But she is trying harder and having fun with it.

Sunday- Hector, Chloe and I went to IHOP for some Horton Hears a Who 'Who-cakes' and 'Beezlenut Splash'.

Sunday afternoon we headed over to Stef's for Kaleb's 4th Birthday celebration.
He was loving all of the presents, especially his new playhouse.

Monday (St. Patrick's Day) Hector came by after work to see if Chloe and I wanted to go see Horton Hears a Who. We did and she loved it. It was a pretty cute show.

We had Bahama Bucks afterward.

Photobucket

Today was a verrrry rainy day. Not fun on Spring Break.
But Chloe didn't care about anything other than getting to Target at opening time to get her copy of Enchanted. You may remember we saw this twice at the theater. She is calling this her "favorite movie ever, tied with Hairspray" ;) and she was so excited to watch it again.
We spent the day over at Stef's.
Koby is still recovering from surgery and still in lots of pain. :( Poor kiddo.
It's cool though...his voice has changed alot and is much louder. Hopefully he will feel 100% soon so he can enjoy the rest of Spring Break.

Anyway, it rained ALL. DAY. LONG.
The kids got bored and ended up playing hide and seek, fighting about eeeevryyyything and doing weird stuff like making faces from tortillas.

Photobucket

She was asleep by 7:15 tonight which is unheard of around here. (Last night was 11:30)

Hopefully the weather will be nice tomorrow. We have a few more fun things planned for this week.

PSA because some people really lack common sense

Okay people. I don't care if you use ugly language. I throw around some "bad" words pretty often myself.
Please, use those words in your home, in a bar, in a club, on the phone, whatever.
But please, please, PLEASE do not use those "4-letter words" at IHOP on a Sunday morning when your table is surrounded by other tables with children and their parents trying to eat breakfast. It's not cute or cool to laugh obnoxiously loud and yell out ugly words.
It's annoying, tacky and rude and it makes you look just plain stupid.

Also, please put out your cigarette before getting in line for tickets at the movie theater where there are tons of people.
Noone else wants to inhale your nasty smoke. Especially my kid.

Thanks.

Saddle Up Your Horses

Yesterday was Rodeo day at Chloe's school.
A "real cowgirl" came from the Mesquite Rodeo and talked to the kids, showed them her cowgirl gear and she even brought a small petting zoo!
It was tons of fun. (Except for the fact that I volunteered to help out for 4 hours...outside. It was supposed to be 80* so I wore short sleeves and flip flops. Yeah, it was like 55*)

Here are a few pics I took. She has outgrown her old boots and hat so we just used what we had at home and her teacher had a hat Chloe could borrow.

And, as you may know, Chloe is terrified of animals. Like even cats and dogs. So she didn't actually go IN the petting zoo. She watched her friends from the other side of the little fence. Hehe.

These ducks were precious!

And look at the baby goat behind this mama. There were 4 of them and they were sooo cute!

Say a Prayer for Koby and Don't Ever Buy This Dyson.

Koby is having his tonsils and adenoids taken out tomorrow.
Poor little guy has such a hard time sleeping, eating, etc.
I know he will feel better when it's all over.
Please say a prayer that the surgery goes well, that the recovery isn't bad and that he eats more ice cream than should ever be allowed.
And while you're at it, maybe say another prayer for Grandpa? He's having a very very hard time.

Also, don't ever buy this Dyson.

dyson

It's the upright.

Unless, of course, you want to spend nearly $400 on a vacuum that doesn't pick up well and spits shit back out at your feet while you vacuum.

Chloe has been writing stories...

**AGAIN, I am waiting for photobucket to get the sizes right. Grrr**

and her sense of humor cracks me up.

A few days ago she came home from school and said she had something funny to show me.

Photobucket

"To Mommy
So Funny
Open Here"

Photobucket

"Mommy tall
Tinney (Tiny ) Daddy

And this is a story she wrote on her own, yesterday...

Photobucket

"The Stinky Toes
All by Chloe"

(The green stuff is fumes from the stinky toes)

Photobucket

"There lived a toe.
A stinky toe."

Photobucket

"OMG my stinky toe.
I forgot to wash it."

(Yes, she actually wrote OMG on her own.
And she describbed the pic as "Her friend was patting her on the back and telling her it was okay.")

Photobucket

"Then she ran home and she scrubbed alot"

Photobucket

"She scrubbed and scrubbed and finally it stopped stinking.
The end."
